Cardboard and Corrugated Box
The term "cardboard box" generally includes cardboard boxes and corrugated boxes. However, the two types of containers are different.
Cardboard is thicker and stronger than traditional paper and can be used for many purposes. However, for boxes, cardboard is usually not ideal for packaging, transportation or storage. For many products, the single-layer cardboard used for cardboard packaging is too weak.
Corrugated boxes are assembled from three layers of container boards. Usually, each layer is made of cardboard, but it can also be made of thick paper or a combination of paper and cardboard layers. Corrugated paper materials are stronger than individual cardboard, which makes corrugated boxes an ideal choice for packaging large or heavy objects.
Different types of combination boards
The two outer layers of fluted media and container board are called "combined boards". There are several different designs of bonded multilayer boards, such as:
Single-sided. This design has a groove layer on one side and a liner on the other side.
Single wall. This is the default design for most corrugated boxes. It has a grooved layer and liner cardboard on both sides. This sandwich setting is considered a "wall".
Double wall. The double-wall material has two layers of fluted cardboard, each with a liner on each side, for a total of five layers.
Triple wall. These strong structures have three groove layers between a total of four liner boards.
The grooves (curves of the wavy middle layer) may vary by design. Grooves are measured by the number of grooves per square foot. There are five basic types of grooves, each of which is most suitable for different products and environments.
Type A. This groove layer has only 33-36 grooves per foot, which is most suitable for lightweight and fragile materials that require cushioning but not high strength.
Type B. This kind of strong groove is usually used for internal packaging. In internal packaging, products need compartments and structures to maintain safety. There are 47-49 flutes per foot.
Type C. This is the most common type of corrugated paper, 38-41 watts per foot. It is used for packaging boxes and storing glass or furniture. It has good compression and shatter resistance and can protect the contents of the box.
Type E. This thinner groove has greater compressive strength at 90 grooves per foot. Common uses include display stands, cosmetic packaging and pizza boxes.
F type. The groove has 128 grooves per foot and is the strongest commonly used corrugated paper material. It has excellent compressive and compressive properties, and is usually used to transport and store cosmetics, jewelry and shoes, and to make clamshell boxes.
Different types of corrugated boxes

Slotted and semi-slotted boxes. Many boxes are designed to be sealed with scored edges at the top and bottom to facilitate folding and inserting them into the folds in place. The semi-slotted box has a safe slot at the bottom and no top cover. Fully slotted boxes have folding plates that can form the surface of the top box and the surface of the bottom box.
The telescope box has two parts that can slide against each other-usually a container at the bottom and a lid at the top-to provide an adjustable height and store irregularly shaped items.
Folder box. Like a clamshell or pizza box, the top side of the folder box opens and closes from the spine on the back.
Rigid partition box. These boxes have inserts made of rigid material that form strict separation and separation inside the box.
Folding box. The bottom of the foldable packaging box has a single side of corrugated cardboard, and the remaining sides are folded to form other sides.
